The True Chance of Being Admitted to a Top College

images-1Kevin Carey offers a fresh perspective on college admissions statistics in The New York Times. 

College acceptance rates have dropped significantly, giving certain elite schools bragging rights. Carey suggests the reality, though, is that the rate of acceptance for qualified students to at least one elite college is unchanged. This is partially explained by the large increase in applications submitted by a broader applicant pool  as a result of the ease of applying online.

Don’t despair— you can improve your odds of acceptance to a school that’s right for you by doing a thorough college search to identify schools with an appropriate academic profile and personality to match yours.
