An Interesting Survey

UnknownAbout.com  recently mentioned  Kaplan Test Prep’s College Admissions Officers Survey on their College Admissions blog. This survey offers valuable insight on what admissions officers say about admissions trends, standardized testing and online and social networking.

The survey is worth reviewing. It highlights a number of interesting points, including the following:

  • Admissions officers believe GPA is a critical piece of a student’s application.
  • Nearly all admissions officers surveyed felt the SAT and ACT are good predictors of academic success in college.
  • Almost 25% of those surveyed have gone online, either on Google or Facebook, to learn more about applicants.

Take a look at the survey— any new information that helps you to better understand the college admissions process puts you in the position to better navigate your own personal process.
